You have three options for adding media to Kroax. You can use an external link to use YouTube, Google, or uploaded videos; you can use the embed code offered by each of those services and others like it, you can stream video to your site. See below for details on each.

Linking to external media or URLs

YouTube:
Instead of typing in the extension manually, you may choose the correct media format from the dropdown box beside the URL field. Choose YouTube for YouTube video.

The proper syntax for adding a YouTube video linking to it is, "http://www.youtube.com/v/VIDEOID.999" or "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEOID.999". Adding the .999 extension is important for Kroax to properly display the YouTube video. The http://www. Must be present.

To use YouTubes video embed code, just paste the entire code into the My code is embedded box.

Google:
Instead of typing in the extension manually, you may choose the correct media format from the dropdown box beside the URL field. Choose Google for Google video.

The proper syntax for adding a Google video linking to it is, "http://www.video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-VIDEOID.998". Adding the .998 extension is important for Kroax to properly display the Google video. The http://www. Must be present.

To use Googles video embed code, just paste the entire code into the My code is embedded box.

Uploaded Video:
Instead of typing in the extension manually, you may choose the correct media format from the dropdown box beside the URL field. Choose General URL for self-uploaded video.

To use your own uploaded video, simply put the URL to the video file in the Link to media box.

Streaming Video:
Instead of typing in the extension manually, you may choose the correct media format from the dropdown box beside the URL field. Choose Stream for streaming video.

To stream media to your site; simply add the extension .stm to the end of the URL. E.g. "http://full_url:port.stm".

Playlist Support:
There is also support for playlists. .flv, .swf, and .mp3 files are supported. If you want to use additional formats, we recommend turning playlist options off so favorites will still work.

Kroax will automatically play any .mp3 file added and will show a default picture for each file. .Mp3s added to your favorites can be launched from there.

Categories:
Categories are not required to Kroax. When no categories exist, Kroax will simply list all media files available to it. This may be ideal if you have a very limited number of media files to show.

User Options:
User selectable view. Either thumbnail view, or detailed list view.
Tell a friend feature allows users to send a link to any media file to a friend via email.
User comments for each media file.
Users can vote on a 5 star rating system for each file.
 The database is fully searchable.
Users have the ability to report broken media to the administrator from within Kroax.
Users can upload their own links and/or movies. This option is fully controlled by admin via the settings panel for Kroax.

Administrator Options:
You may have an unlimited number of categories and subcategories.
You may choose whether media is embedded into the pages of your site, or if media displays in a popup window.
Fully customizable settings for height and width of images. The uploaded thumbs will automatically be resized according the settings. Default values are 150w x 85h and accepted formats are .png, .gif, and .jpg.
Media files and entire categories are subject to php-fusion permission system. You can allow full public access, registered member only access, administrator access, or super administrator only access.
Each media file has a hit counter to track how many time it has been viewed.
The Report broken feature sends a PM to the admin. Admin can then view all reports.
User uploads send a PM to the admin, and the admin can view all user uploaded media.
 Native .mp3 playback support.
Included .flv player will show external media such as those from YouTube or Google Video on your site in your own player with your logo.
The autoloader allows you to dump an unlimited amount of media files to your database at any time.
Native ffmpeg support including a flash upload progress bar. Ffmpeg support converts uploaded media to .flv format and creates a thumbnail for you. This feature requires server side support.

Panels:
There are several panels included with Kroax for front-end display. You can use the full panel which is designed to be a center panel and shows latest, popular, most viewed etc. You can also use the latest media panel which can be used as a side panel as well. There is also a random movie panel that can be used.

Thumbnail Support:
Thumbnails are only generated for you if using the ffmpeg support; otherwise, you must create and upload the thumbnail images yourself. Optionally, you can link to a URL of an image to use for the thumbnail. E.g. For YouTube videos, you can right click the thumbnail on their website, copy the image URL, and use that.
